Prospective issuers for a new spot Bitcoin ETF including Blackrock, Ark, Grayscale and others have filed amendments to their S-1 applications, demonstrating significant progress with only a few steps remaining prior to SEC approval. While various spot ETFs have been proposed over the past decade, the SEC has only recently began to work closely with firms to get to approval.
The Supreme Court has allowed Idaho to enforce its strict abortion ban even in cases of medical emergencies while a legal battle ensues over the conflict with Federal Law regarding emergency medical care. The Supreme Court will hear a challenge to Idaho’s ban in April, marking the second major abortion dispute that the Supreme Court will face since it overturned Roe vs Wade in 2022.
United Launch Alliance will launch its Vulcan Centaur rocket for the first time on January 8th, carrying Astrobotic's Peregrine lunar lander which is expected to attempt a landing on the moon in late February. If successful, this would mark the first time that a private spacecraft has landed on the moon.
